Can you share a bit about the project work that Benchmark completed for you?

The NW Suburban Municipal Joint Action Water Agency serves 500,000 people. It is a critical and very large water distribution infrastructure comprised of 90” pipe and a high-pressure water main system. The criticality of the system is caused by a lack of redundancy. Benchmark Construction has completed new utility installation, including the relocation of large pipe along the Jane Addams Expressway, and several emergency repair projects under time and weather constraints.

What challenges have experts from the Benchmark helped you address?

This water distribution system is a unique infrastructure requiring specialized skills and abilities to install and to maintain. Contractors need to manage uncommon conditions. Benchmark is at the top of a small list of pre-approved contractors since problems that might arise due to weather and other conditions must be addressed quickly.

How did the relationship with you and process work?

Benchmark is our first choice whenever possible because it operates as a partner to the agency. The sequence of events required is executed as a partnership versus a typical contractor. Paul appreciated the direct communications with both Mark Atkins and the project foreman.
