On May 14th the City of Wood Dale issued Benchmark a $9.7 million contract for stormwater improvements. The city’s residents have long suffered from flooding during periods of heavy rain, which has become a relatively common phenomenon in our region. Benchmark, Wood Dale, and Robinson Engineering will be teaming to install a new flood control system that will provide the area with over 330,000 cubic feet of additional stormwater storage. The highlight of the project will be the installation of 3,500 lineal feet of 10’x10’ box culverts. These culverts weigh as much as 22 tons each and will be installed at 20 feet below grade. The finished product will provide the citizens of Wood Dale with a higher quality of life and fading memories of a rain-soaked past. Benchmark is proud to have been selected for the work and looks forward to a great project.
